Private Pilot License
The easiest way to fly helicopters recreationally!

Enjoy helicopter flying with your friends and family. A private pilot license (PPL) is used particularly for hobby flying. PPL pilot's cannot profit from the transport of goods or passengers. The pilot must own their own helicopter and can only fly a maximum of three passengers.

In order to become a certified helicopter pilot, you must:

Before initially starting your training with B.C. Helicopters, every pilot needs to obtain a Class One/Three Aviation Medical

Transport Canada Private Pilot (Helicopter) Written Exam:

Transport Canada requires a minimum of 45 hours to obtain a Private Pilot License. However, most pilot's take about 60 hours in order to feel comfortable flying a helicopter.
A STANDARD WEEK:
We use Google Calendar with all of our instructors and students. The structure if often flexible but usually the time slot for each student will switch week-to-week.

To start, click the helicopter you would like to train on for the majority of your (45-60) hours. If you would like to receive an endorsement for an additional aircraft, the minimum requirement is ten hours.

The initial $4549.00 is a basic start-up cost including registration and fees.

We fly the Cabri Guimbal G2 and the Robinson R44. The Cabri G2 is the safest and most modern training helicopter on the market and at
$750/hr definitively the most reasonable helicopter. The 90/5 blend of hours allows you to minimize cost while flying safely and adding an endorsement on the most sold helicopter in North America, the Robinson R44. This will probably be the aircraft you will start working on in the future.
